To promote this new album You Don't Work You Don't Eat, I'm doing it different, I have a solid team, with: Jarrot, management, Elwood, booking agent; Shayna, publicist and I got an silent investor and it's a good thing.

I don't have to do it myself, I made a lil bit of noise last year, with My Testimony, I learned about the importance of a marketing plan (which I ain't have) and a solid team, I have the solid marketing strategy.

I read Everything You Wanna Know About the Music Industry, by Donald Passman. I also went to school to learn marketing and finance, its more than just music, I want ignite a youth movement, the theme is You Don't Work, You Don't Eat.

If you look at anything you want to accomplish in life from sports, rap, college degree, losing weight, and even grinding on the block, if you don't put the time and effort into then it's all in vain. And the value of having good credit! Credit is very important in life, and also pay yourself before you pay your bills, that's the key!

Hip-Hop

With Kanye West outselling 50 Cent nearly 3 to 1, that sent a message to record labels that the consumers want positive hip-hop, I like 50 more than I like Kanye, but I'm glad Ye won, because he made his own lane, that was a message that we tired of gangsta rap!

Remember that we all one under Hip-Hop understand your buying power, "you" made 50 rich made Jay rich we build they empire, Hip-Hop understand ya buying power, "You" control the rap game, not them! This a billion dollar industry!

50 Cent he can only go down, why because his first album set a standard that can only go downhill, like he now, losing that steam. Is it me or does rap sound the same, the same club song, the same err'thing, fret not, You Don't Work You Don't Eat Enter Tee-Jay, the people want something new, and I got it! Word is Bond!!

Finance

I understand money how it works, how to build compound interest and I see these niggers, just happy go lucky. I guess rappers were the last to get the memo that we're in the midst of a recession, and these fools making it rain, now its dollars, in 10 years it will be change, literally. You can only stay hot for so long! Learn about the Wilshire 5000, S&P 500, that's what real hustlers talk about, money can work for you, if invested in a hedge or index fund, it's easy to get money; it's hard to keep it.

If you really moving bricks, and you really in the kitchen whipping up coke and making money, you would never go in the studio and indict yourself would you? If anything its dry snitching; if you really are doing it and you rap about, you a fed case in the waiting! Then you are lying! Watch the company you keep, Case closed

Life

With the fires out here in San Diego, where I live, see I'm from Pittsburgh and I ain't never had to deal with mother nature, we might get a snow blizzard, but not something smashing ya whole livelihood, one of my wife's best friend lost her home, and she only got 3 pair of clothes, but she is alive, and that's what life is about, the importance of family and friends.

I really appreciate life now more than ever, because it hit so close to home, the smoke is so bad it covers the cars, like snow, and the air is bad! but we pushing, one thing I say about San Diego is they got hearts, huge hearts, at the shelters and churches there were more volunteers than evacuees and that's "So San Diego"

I'm from the Da Burgh, but I also got a fan base and way of life out here in California as well, and with this happening, it makes me wanna go harder, to help heal this region, thru music!

Its a trip we had 9/11 in the east, Katrina in the south, and a Firestorm 2007 in the west, in the last 6 years America has had major things happening, and real talk, life is short, get every minute back, smile daily, and keep the BS on silence.

The Music Culture of Independent Hip-Hop Artist’s are different depending on each Artist’s. I created a personal exclusive interview with Cash Flow Entertainments’ Hip-Hop Artist / Entreprenegro, “Tee-Jay.” In this interview we will discuss the Four Elements of Music Culture according to this Artist’s perspective.

Is music good for mankind or potentially harmful?

I can only speak for myself, For instance hip-hop music, when I was a child living in the ghetto, I seen the crack epidemic transform a nice neighborhood into a drug war zone. What’s so ironic is that hip-hop started around this time as well in like 1982, I was 5 years old, and the kids used hip-hop as an escape from the harsh realities that we faced. Also I love how it brings different cultures and generations of people together. Now negative hip-hop music is definitely harmful, and the negative side sometime supersedes the good fruit of hip-hop. Hip-Hop saved my life so it’s good for me, I can’t speak for everybody else.

When is a song beautiful?

Its beautiful the first time an struggling artist hears their song on the radio, think of Run-DMC the first hip-hop artists to enter the Billboard and get video play on MTV, that’s beautiful! When it gives inspiration after a bad day. Using music to soothe to a crying baby, now that’s tremendously beautiful! ha-ha

How should a musician such as yourself, dress?
I think that’s the artist discretion, but I would dress different just to stand out from the pack. For instance, I don’t have any tattoos, no jewelry, and I use no profanity. I do this to go against the norm. Because the stereotype, of rappers is gaudy jewelry, and soft porn music videos and I try to shed a positive light so help preserve a culture that Corporate America continues to exploit.

What did the first hip-hop music sound like to you?

It sounded fresh innovative and I was hooked, I heard Sugar Hill Gang, then Grandmaster Melle Mel and the Furious Five, and then Run-DMC and Jam Master Jay. And I knew from that moments people from the struggle like me had a voice and I grew in the golden era of rap, with Public Enemy, NWA, LL Cool J, and The Geto Boys.

What type of activities that you do on a weekly basis that involve music?

I practice and rehearse my lyrics for upcoming performances; I check my MySpace and contact various media outlets (college radio, music publications, booking agents) to promote my upcoming album. Also I contact various producers and studios to find a place to record, sometimes the studios that I like have scheduling conflicts so I have to improvise.

What is your personal favorite genre of music?

You may laugh but its opera music, I don’t know the artist I enjoy the sound and the story of each opera. The vocals are very powerful that you can feel what they are saying and not understand the lyrical content.

What is different in the lyrics you use than that of other Hip-Hop Artists?

I talk about the fluffy things like the MySpace, and Swerving, you know bubblegum music, you have to get their attention some how, but I also social injustice, about health, about getting good credit, I write inspirational lyrics to change someone’s outlook on life, but humor and wit at the same time. And that’s where the line is drawn, between other artists and myself.
